YA Books I like

My favorite books

REVENGE Jason Steed book 2, has all elements.

Revenge - Mark A. Cooper

Okay so I am a fan of young adult books and I enjoy the Alex Rider and Jason Steed novels so I was excited when book I received book 2 to read.

Cooper does a brilliant job with the story, it's very original and so much happens yet it's written at a easy to read pace that 10-14 year olds can get into.

The story is in almost 3 parts, Jason Steed goes undercover to a 'Juvie' to get close to the son of a triad leader.

Once the bad guys are put away, the main triad leader has her assets frozen in China, she plots a plan to kidnap the Chinese Commissioners 12 year old daughter and she wants Revenge on Jason Steed.

For safety the girl and Jason are put in a safe house, but with undercover networks, triads and corrupt Police the address is given away. Forcing Jason and the girl to flee.

This is when the novel goes into overdrive, we get action after action, some emotional scenes, some very funny and cupid love.

One well written scene the two 12 year olds are hiding out in a hotel and they take a bubble bath together, its very innocent and clean of course they are only 12, the author reminds us of how innocent children actually are. It was an amusing and warm scene in a fast paced novel that if anything has too much action.

The ending is spectacular as always with this series. loved it.

Teen Spy Book. CHERUB Book 1 The Recruit.

Mission 1: The Recruit (Cherub) - Robert Muchamore

Wow, it's a great novel set in the UK, so some of the speech is a little strange and the kids in the novel seem quite advanced on adult subjects.

CHERUB is a SPY SCHOOL for kids, mostly Orphans who work hard and become spies of course acting and posing as regular kids.

This is book one and a promising start to what looks like a great series.

Books like Alex Rider.

Fledgling: Jason Steed - Mark A. Cooper

As a huge fan of the Alex Rider series, I doubted anything could be as good, well I was wrong. Jason Steed gives Alex Rider a run for his money, the stories are not the same and even alike but it appeals to the same reader. Jason Steed is also a British boy thrown into chaos and has to save the day.

Jason Steed however is more like your brother, best friend I found myself falling in love with him, a brotherly love (Nothing gay) and because you get so drawn into his character when he get's upset and struggles it hits you, kind of hard to describe but in one scene I got teary eyed when he had all but given up and was injured.

Simply written for tweens, a great start to another great series.

Book 1 Alex Rider Stormbreaker

Stormbreaker - Anthony Horowitz

An amazing novel, from to start to finish packed with action, it was easy to read and very enjoyable, A great start to a new series, I loved it.

I have also seen the movie, in this case the novel was better but the actor playing Alex Rider was perfect for the part.
